Mechanical properties such as dynamic, cyclical, and impact behavior, etc. are quantified and analyzed to establish physical behavioral models. The durability criteria in particular are refined using accelerated tests, testing of the physiochemical model and even long-term testing in aggressive environments. Some tests have been ongoing for more than 10 years.

Another research focus are the construction methods, with the development of innovative components and processes based on digital models created with the state-of-the-art design tools.
