Building Envelopes

Building envelopes: designing facades

Few materials offer the chance to blend creative potential, technology and aesthetics.

The properties of Ductal® multiply the possibilities of designing new facades or renovating old ones.

Sunshades

Beyond an architectural perception, a building envelope has a full technical role to play, sometimes as thermal insulation, other times as a sun shade, or an impact resistance barrier.

Over the past few years Lafarge has developed original and innovative construction technologies that make the best use of all Ductal®'s qualities as an UHPC.

They enable the production of extremely fine surfaces, free of traditional defects of mineral materials (bubbles, surface porosity, etc.) and offer a multitude of original textures.

These new technologies also enable the production of large, slim elements with complex forms and totally new shapes in mineral materials.

As an alternative or a complement to steel, aluminum, plastic or wood, Ductal® creations can be colored in the batch.

One of the largest color palettes is therefore available for designers to choose from to respect the décor imagined for their building: facade panels, perforated panels, sun shades, roofs, etc.
