Chemical stability
Research clearly shows the absence of endogenous processes of deterioration (DEF, thaumasite, Alcali-reaction, swelling of residual anhydrous clinker…), including Ductal® that was intentionally pre-cracked by mechanical means.
Recently obtained models dealing with resistance to leaching in various aggressive environments provide an estimate of service life in extreme conditions.

Resistance to acid attack
Ductal® can resist extremely aggressive conditions where conventional concretes would otherwise be severely damaged.
Ductal® samples were exposed to various corrosive/aggressive elements, including calcium sulfate, sodium sulfate, acetic acid, ammonium sulphide, nitrates, seawater and distilled water.
Results show very high resistance to these attacks.
Aging tests were also carried out, revealing the phenomenon of self-healing as illustrated below.
