Aesthetic qualities

Creative concrete

Ductal®’s qualities, including strength, ductility, fluidity and durability, open the door to innovative uses for new architectural trends; such as pure lines, finesse, textures, and often a preference towards a mineral appearance. Ductal® owes its mechanical strength to its 2 to 4% fiber composition (depending on whether steel or organic fibers are used), as opposed to the average of 1% used with the conventional fiber reinforced concretes. Ductal® therefore presents total absence of passive reinforcement, facilitating the creation of large complex shapes and very thin sections.

Ductal®‘s formula uses very fine particles, enhancing its self-consolidating properties that contribute to the highly homogenous cast and reduce the risk of incomplete filling, resulting in exceptionally uniform surfaces.
In addition, Ductal® beautifully replicates mold texture, providing an infinite diversity of surface aspects, giving architects free reign with the rough, mineral appearance of the material.
Sanding or polishing can enhance this aspect, leading to appearances close to stone or marble.

with the addition of pigments, Ductal® offers a vast palette of color, with uniform, deep hue.
Specific treatments can also be added to reinforce its outstanding resistance to external elements.
