• Two thousand years of concrete
Already used in Roman times, concrete has been then neglected until the 19th century when it came back with the invention of the Portland Cement and metal reinforcement. During the second half of the 20th century, this new concrete lost its nice image and became synonym of bad taste, however the new technological wizardries will restore to this material its “Patent of Nobility”. Ductal®, Lafarge Ultra High Performance concrete, is composed of organic fibers, allowing exceptionally thin shapes, it is highly resistant to compression and bending.
