Ductal® makes itself at home at this year's Paris International Furniture Fair!
Renowned for its feats in the world of building and civil engineering, you might be a little surprised see its name on everyday furniture... However, Ductal® – on show at the Salon du Meuble from January 5 through 9 in Paris – is now attracting the attention of interior designers. Their creations will be on display in the Salon's new area, 'Home béton', dedicated to furniture and objects made of concrete.
Sick of your bathtub? Need a coffee table for your living room? Ductal® furniture is an original addition to any home. The structural and esthetic qualities of Ductal® allow architects, designers and interior designers to unleash their imagination and create bold shapes and objects which are both extremely elegant and lightweight. The fineness of its components makes Ductal® self-placing and also gives it its outstanding ability to replicate mold texture: all kinds of patterns, engraving and finishes can be transferred intact onto items made of Ductal®. Thanks to bulk coloring, the esthetic finish of Ductal® is extremely versatile.
Based on highly innovative technology, this ultra-high performance concrete, sold in France by Lafarge Ciments, has revolutionized the construction industry, making it possible to create slender structures, beams for bridges supporting considerable loads, and even very thin slabs. But its unique structural and esthetic properties are now attracting a different crowd... watch this space!
