Precaster

Ductal® is a new technology with high technicality and specific implementation requiring in-depth collaboration. Lafarge provides this technology and expertise transfer within the scope of a Collaboration Agreement which grants the right to use the product in a given territory and defines the steps the precaster must follow to master the technology.

This process involves an assessment audit, defining the upgrading which may be required for the tooling and plant facilities, and staff training.

Lafarge continues this technological partnership on the jobsite, assisting the precaster in producing the prototypes. Once the prototypes are validated, Lafarge follows through on processing the files with control and certification bureaus.

Lafarge also provides support in the commercial field and has developed marketing and sales tools to encourage the use of Ductal® in France.

Lafarge has conducted many campaigns to raise specifiers’ awareness of Ductal®, aimed at architects, design offices and project managers. Lafarge must also often recommend precasters to make the structures, and facilitates business opportunities for them.

Lafarge is particularly dynamic in developing new semi-industrial applications using Ductal®, where it prospects the potential markets and helps precasters develop new products for potential mass-production.
Lafarge contributes its expertise with Ductal® and its commercial capabilities, combining these assets with the precasters’ technical control over the industrial process and their knowledge of the potential markets.
